Exploring Environment Concept Art

'Y Castell Tawel'

I created this for my A Level art coursework project. It was a combination of different recognisable sections of welsh castles, slotted together to create a new story. The coursework was an attempt to bring the world of environment concept art and game design to Wales.

'Castell Coch'

This piece was another addition to my courswork project. I attempted to give the famous Castell Coch a slightly different environment to work with, pulling on elements of fantasy and magic to give this piece an ethereal aura to it.

'The Wanderer'

This piece was primarily for me to experiment with gradients, textures, lighting and effects. I think the final image portrays an individual letting go of their past and taking on their next adventure, to see what lies ahead in the light. A stepping off point, so to speak.

Concept Characters

'The 1st Hero Project'

As an individual who has grown up with studios like Marvel and DC, they influenced me to see if I could turn my friends and family into super-powered individuals. I nicknamed this 'The Hero Project'. I asked my friends the powers they would like and whether they would like to be depicted as a Hero or a Villain. I then used multiple sources of inspiration, constantly working with the individual I was drawing to ensure that I drew them how they wanted.
